The AB is an adjustable post base which offers moisture protection and finished hardware appearance.
These post bases feature 1" standoff height above concrete floors, code-required when supporting permanent structures that are exposed to the weather or water splash, or in basements. They reduce the potential for decay at post and column ends.
16 gauge base cover
Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports). For epoxy or mechanical anchors, select and install according to anchor manufacturer's recommendations Products require washers between the nut and the base. Washers are supplied with all products except ABA’s which require a standard cut washer.
