  1. Poorly designed and not worth the money! review by Robert on 9/6/2017
    Overall Product Rating

The engineer who designs these controllers needs to be the person who has to use it. There is a worthless 6" cable on the photo-electric eye module which is suppose to be outside and connect to the transformer. How are you suppose to use that on a full front facing deck without it standing out as an ugly device and still be functional? It needs to be placed outside to detect light to work, so what does a 6" cord to connect to? Install a new CGI and where...on your brick wall or maybe on your new deck? It needs a 12 foot cord to have the luxury in placing the unit where you really want it so it is out of sight and not just next to the transformer. The idea I found on the internet was to use a clear plastic box (for the electric eye) and cram the photo electric eye unit, the dimmer switch unit and the transformer all together inside the box. The box is over 12 inches deep. Where are you suppose to hang this ugly thing? I guess this is so you can go outside during the winter to manage any and all of the lighting functions. Furthermore the dimmer switch has no internal indicator light to let you know the unit is on or off. It has a mode dimming unit that has no indicators as to what mode you are using because they provide you no way in being able to read what dimming level you are using. You have to go outside and view your lights to see if they are at the correct lighting level or not. Really? The remote control is a complete joke. It fits the hand and fingers of a 10 year old child as the remote itself will get lost in a pocket and the functional buttons are so tiny, one finger will press 2 buttons at the same time and not designed for an adult. This is 2017, the age of the smart homes (Ever hear of NEST) and this unit is really sub-standard in both design and function. I would never ever purchase this unit again nor recommend it to anyone.
