Timber Teck Radiance Post review by DAVID on 7/28/2018

I purchased these to fit on 5x5” Timber Tech Radiance post. They are significantly less expensive than those offered by Timber Tech. You pay an extra $2.00 for the “fits 5x5 Radiance Posts” feature but I think you are just paying for the guarantee because the post have a chamfered edge and the post cap has 90 degree edges. They do fit but can be a little tricky to get on the post especially if the post has been cut and the edges are a little rough. I had to sand down the rough edges of a few post to get them on. Once you get them on they fit snugly and look fantastic! They are not removable LED bulbs but 2 LED’s mounted on a little circuit board. This means they can’t be changed but in my experience it is always the circuitry that used to bring the voltage to the proper level that goes and not the LED itself. This can’t happen with these because they are powered by separate DC power supply that must be purchased separately. The Deck Store offers the power supply but if you can do some simple math to calculate the total power of all the LED post caps you can get one Amazon for less money which is what I did. They require you to purchase 6 at a time so you are likely to have spares if one should fail. To summarize, the post caps look great and are significantly less expensive than Timber Tech. You must purchase the LED power supply separately with the power requirements needed for the amount of post caps. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t order the exact amount of caps needed which means I had to buy and extra box of 6 posts but only needed 1 post.
