    These posts are bigger than I thought - like 3x3. So that's good. The come with pyramid caps for the top & bottom. The welded-on top-rail bracket actually goes all the way through the post, which is another good thing because that means the gate will have a harder time sagging. The "not so good" is that once it's all done and screwed together, it still does expereince some sag. The weight of the gate is just too much for something screwed together and not welded together. It doesn't hit the floor, but it sags enought that you can't just swing it closed and have it latch - you have to pick it up a bit so it will latch (assuming a gravity latch is used). So I would use this gate again if I have to, but for the money you'd think they'd make it not sag. One option is to screw an extra baluster across it at an angle, but that can look like an after thought.
