Deck Store Lumber

Kiln Dried Cedar & Treated Lumber At The Deck Store

Selkirk Western Red Cedar is grown & harvested in British Columbia, Canada. Selkirk harvests old growth trees for light weight, straight grains, & no resin. Selkirk Cedar boards are all kiln dried, with a beautiful warm color & deep textured grain. Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, decay, & insects. Old growth timber is denser, with tighter growth rings & fewer loose knots. This results in a slightly heavier board that is more durable & stable which will last for years. The kiln drying process results in a deck board that must be stained soon after installation.

KDAT, or Kiln Drying After Treatment, Brown Treated Lumber is the best choice for deck framing. Each pressure treated board is lighter than green treated, easier to handle & work with, & less likely to warp, twist, crack, shrink, or swell. The Deck Store's Brown Treated Lumber provides better corrosion resistance with code approved hardware & fasteners. The kiln drying process results in a moisture range of roughly 15% - 19% & can be painted or stained right away.
